Pauline founded The Japan Room to revive the salon atmosphere of eighteenth-century Europe from which speculative Freemasonry originated in combination with her friendship with Japan. She has many hobbies and interests but is mainly involved in three activities:

  1. she lectures and publishes on Occidental and Oriental Freemasonry
  2. she is an oil and watercolour painter who exhibits her art on occasion
  3. she currently gives one annual lecture on something Japanese in the Japan Room although other events including performances, demonstrations, guest speakers, book discussions, and much more are being planned as well.

Pauline is an Individual Patron and Council Member of The Japan Society. www.japansociety.org.uk

Pauline spends 2-3 months in Kyoto every year, usually during the spring and autumn. She is a volunteer for the Kyoto City International Foundation/Kyoto International Community House.

The Founder is neither Japanese nor part-Japanese - her ancestry is Armenian. To learn more about Armenia, please take the time to visit www.armenianhighland.com and click on the "Encyclopedia" after selecting the Enhanced or Plain version.
